Touch
input is becoming widely accepted as the user interface of choice in many
market sectors, however implementation requires carefully matching the
touch technology to the requirements of the intended environment. Touch
technology offers an easily re-configured system with future upgrades
being implemented with only a software update.
Our wide range of products and interfaces as well as our integration experience
will ensure the most suitable sensor technology for your application.
We offer 3 different technologies
Resistive
Fujitsu (Click for further information)
The most common form or Touchpanel, wide range of sizes, low cost and
available in 4 and 7 wire construction (7 wire offers better accuracy/drift).
SAW (Surface acoustic wave) SAW
W is an acoustic sensing technique providing a high specification touch
sensor technology. Unlike other technologies no mechanical movement is
used in the sensing technique although a z-axis (pressure applied) in
addition to the x-y co-ordinate is produced. High accuracy, good vandal/scratch
resistance and high transmissivity due to the glass substrate used are
standard features.
Capacitive Offers similar benefits to SAW
touch, the sensing method utilises a projected field close to the touch
sensor. Can also be used for systems requiring toughened or vandal resistance
such as kiosks. And can operate through thick glass for applications such
as interactive shop front displays.
